Hm? Oh, hello! Didn’t see me there.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. My hope is to set to bear, here, a place to share my thoughts, writing, and possibly other creative endeavors.
My writing tends to fall somewhere between dark/macabre and humorous (to me, at least), with the occasional splash of fantasy and adventure thrown in and a soupçon of drama.
I also compose and play music (and have written a few songs, though I’m no great lyricist). I’ve always wanted to be better at visual arts like illustration or coloring and might explore that more.
My thoughts are many, disparate, and often convoluted. I like to ponder philosophy, physics, media, and much more. For the past year or more, my thoughts have largely been occupied with learning about and understanding neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, etc.) and how it has impacted and still impacts my life.
Oh yeah! I was diagnosed last year (at 42-43) with ADHD and, after much research, introspection, and exploration, have come to ID as autistic, as well (though an official diagnosis of ASC remains unavailable for now). These diagnoses/ID’s have shed an incredible light on my life and mannerisms going well back as far as I can remember and the process of understanding and coming to grips with all of this has been… daunting but dramatic. It’s probably here I’ll spend most of my first posts. I want to share these thoughts and experiences here in the hope not only that doing so will help me process and prove cathartic to me, but that also anything I share here might somehow help inform or comfort any others who stumble this way. Finding other ADHD/Autistic people out there in the netterwebs has helped me feel less alone in the world, and less down on myself. If I can at all return that favor, it’s worth it.
All of that said, I hope you find something worthwhile here. If so, please feel free to subscribe for future posts. The coming days will begin my (loose?) series transcribing - and barely editing - rambles and rants I recorded on the way to work exploring various topics along the way to understanding myself more and more (still an ongoing process, of course).
